When one neckband talks, the whole mob hears.
How the mesh fills the gaps.
The gateway sends an update, then the neckbands share it. Pick an example to see how the mesh fills the gaps.
Animated examples. The gateway sends an update to a mob of neckbands, then the neckbands share it with each other. Animals that missed it, sat out of range or just joined the mob still end up with it, and a newer update replaces an older one as it spreads.
Sped up to show the idea.
The whole mob, up to date.
NBmesh™ lets neckbands pass virtual paddock updates to each other locally. After each update from the tower, neckbands share what they have with their neighbours, so an animal that missed it, or was out of range, catches up from the mob around it. A neckband that finds it’s behind on the latest command catches up the same way. Updates only pass between neckbands in the same mob, so each mob stays on its own paddock.
Built for the times the network isn’t.
Network outages, tower maintenance, weak coverage on the far side of the property. As long as one neckband in the mob hears the update, it passes it on to the rest of its mob, neckband to neckband. Nobody gets left on an old paddock because they were in the wrong corner when the update went out.
The mesh is on every neckband.
NBmesh™ ships as part of every eShepherd neckband. Nothing to enable, nothing to configure. It runs in the background after every update, on every mob.
